Internationalisation
Research and Development
In the field of internationalisation we chiefly investigate internationalisation processes of SMEs. We explore the motives behind initializing internationalisation processes and we examine the prerequisites for being able to persevere against international competition. We also closely study the internationalisation processes involving SMEs, analyze the emerging challenges and develop methods to overcome problems arising.
Consulting and Services
We offer consulting services for companies in internationalisation matters. Part of our services is to determine their export capability, to facilitate dealing with other cultures, to facilitate entry into foreign markets or moving production abroad. We provide expertise to help define the export promoting measures of the government. Organisations who endorse export can also receive our assistance for finding the suitable range of services to offer.
Network
SIFE’s key partners for cooperation in internationalisation issues are the export promoting companies Osec Business Network Switzerland, Fargate and Swisstrade, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur (ZHW), and companies such as Cedes, Misapor, Lombart, Sunrise Communications, and Würth Holding.
The knowledge gained through research and development in the field of internationalisation forms the basis for the lectures in the diploma and post-graduate courses at the University of Applied Sciences HTW in Chur, for example the study courses International Management and International Entrepreneurship. We regularly offer information sessions about internationalisation for SMEs.
